Conversations with Tsinoy exemplars from different fields:

Dr Isidro Sia (Medicine)

Kenneth Cobonpue (Arts and Culture)

1:00 – 2:00 pm Crossing Bridges
Sharing of best practices of various Tsinoy-run programs and projects on health, education, sustainable development, governance and heritage education; in concurrent sessions
2:00 – 4:00 pm Living Together (with snacks)
Reflective, creative workshop for exploring universal values; designing Ideas Out of the Box that co-create harmony between the ethnic Chinese and other Filipinos
4:00 – 5:00 pm Synthesis
Summary of speakers’ sharing; insights of “experts” from mainstream Philippine society; summary of workshop outputs
Day 2
8:00 – 11:00 am
Under the Philippine Sun (with snacks)
Study tour on heritage and social development and immersion in selected communities in Manila
11:00 am – 3:00 pm Building New Bridges (with working lunch and snacks)
Presentation of Ideas Out of the Box and selection of potential project ideas for grant funding
3:00 – 4:30 pm+ Closing: Continuing the Journey
Evaluation, synthesis and ways forward

Pre-Convention events:
Nov 10, Build a Bridge (in partnership with the Filipino-Chinese Schools Association) – Leadership camp for high school student leaders from different “Chinese” schools in Metro Manila

Post-Convention events:
Summer 2013, Continuation of Build a Bridge
Till 2013, Implementation of “Ideas Out of the Box” competition project ideas
